Thai Attacks Continue; Use of Chemical Weapons on Cambodian
Thai military incursions into Cambodian territory continued today, according to Defense Ministry spokeswoman Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, who also accused Thai forces of using chemical weapons.
At a press conference this morning, Socheata said Thai troops launched attacks on Ta Moan Thom and Ta Krabei from 3:00 to 5:00 a.m., despite ongoing diplomatic efforts between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand’s acting prime minister.
“In an effort to seize Wat Keo Kiri Svarak and escalate fighting in Chub Koki and Thmor Don, Thai forces attacked multiple areas—Chub Koki, Thmor Don, Veal Intry, Samaki, Ta Thav, and An Ses—starting at 3:10 a.m. and continuing until 5:07 a.m.,” she said.
She praised Cambodian forces for holding their ground, saying they fought with determination and made sacrifices to defend the country.
Socheata further claimed that Thai jets have carried out chemical attacks in areas like An Ses and Phnom Kmoach since yesterday, using poison gas.
She also dismissed recent Thai military claims that Cambodian forces fired long-range PHL-03 rockets into Thailand, calling them “baseless, misleading, and malicious.” She described the accusations as part of a deliberate effort to justify Thailand’s “violent and inhumane aggression.”
“These false claims are an attempt by the Thai military to shift blame and create a narrative that paints Cambodia as the aggressor,” she said. “It’s a calculated move to cover up their own violations of our sovereignty.”

Socheata also rejected separate Thai allegations that Cambodian forces fired into Laotian territory, calling them “a deceitful tactic meant to discredit Cambodia on the global stage.”
“Cambodia has never, and will never, violate the sovereignty of our neighbors,” she stated. “We are committed to respecting the territorial integrity of all sovereign nations.”

On the morning of July 27, 2025, invading Thai forces continued their deliberate assault on the sacred Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that the international community has a duty to safeguard.
