August 4, 2025—H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence:
At 11 a.m. this morning, the Thai armed forces, accompanied by heavy machinery such as excavators, entered An Ses area within Cambodian sovereign territory, and even laid barbed wires, despite the strong objections from our Cambodian armed forces. It is also worth noting that Cambodia recently arranged a visit by foreign Defence attachés to those locations on July 30, 2025, and this is a clear demonstration that this location is under Cambodian sovereignty, under the control of Cambodian armed forces after the ceasefire came into effected midnight on 28 July 2025. This the Thai act constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement and poses a grave threat to peace and security along the border between the two countries, as well as to the wider region.
Cambodia calls on the international community — particularly the partner countries that have worked tirelessly to help achieve this hard-won ceasefire agreement and wished also to see this truce fully and effectively implemented and demanded that Thailand immediately stop its aggressive actions as well as strictly respected the international law, especially Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
